Wiping the Tears: A Caring Response to Abuse
The fight to end domestic violence and abuse begins with education and ultimately ends only with the healing power of the Holy Spirit. God’s desire for every survivor of trauma is emotional healing, as well as physical and psychological well-being.  The Wiping the Tears Conference is designed to equip churches with the tools that God wants every Christian to have to respond and minister to victims of past and present abuse and/or domestic violence. The mission of Wiping the Tears conferences is two-fold:

To spread the good news about the healing power God can bestow upon
those who are carrying the deep seated scars of abuse
To equip churches to identify and respond to survivors and to support
these woman as they continue on their journey to freedom in Christ.

Christians are not immune to these sensitive and sometimes uncomfortable topics.  But they can be the answer.  Hosting a two-day conference in your church will provide…

A life-transforming message for women who have a past history of
abuse, who want to learn more about what constitutes an abusive
relationship, and to any woman who would like to learn more about the
topic or help support a friend who has been affected by abuse.
Support for pastors and leaders who want to provide a caring
environment and make their church fertile ground for those who are
seeking God’s healing from abuse or domestic violence.
Practical information and resources for churches to meet this goal.
Information on false beliefs that hinder survivors from healing.
Simple ways all Christians can help others who have suffered trauma.

Hear what Conference attendees have had to say…

“The church has had a long history of either brushing the talk of abuse under the rug or denying the possibility of abuser as part of the churches fabric. It is time, that we as church leaders, rise up, take a hard look at how the face of an abuser and those who have been abused may look just like you and I. Freedom & deliverance comes only when we seek the Word of God for His wisdom, clarity and direction. The process is painful but life changing.” - Pastor

“Before attending the Wiping The Tears Conference, I had decided that church was not a place I could ever feel comfortable. After hearing Christine’s message, I was able to find a church home. My life has been fully redeemed because I now have a place to safely reach God.” – Survivor

“Thank you so much for putting your time and efforts into this conference...it touched so many lives. It is so good to understand the pain of those suffering from abuse...oh, how my heart hurts and longs to see them freed. I'm glad for the healing God has brought to my life through you and I look forward to more that He is going to do!” - Abuse Survivor and Church Leader

This growth of this ministry and the impact that it can have on our churches and communities depends on the willingness of area churches to host a conference in their church.  To schedule a conference, contact Christine Raymond at:  craymond@safeharborministries.org
